Youth Strength Training Does Not Stunt Growth
I grew up hearing that lifting weights too young would stunt your growth. We all did. It was treated like fact. Once I began coaching and studying the research, I realized how wrong that idea is.
Controlled strength training does not impede height. It actually protects developing joints, improves motor control, and prepares the body for the much heavier forces athletes absorb during sport.
Your joints take far more load sprinting, cutting, and jumping than they ever will under a properly supervised barbell. With a coach who teaches movement quality, lifting becomes one of the safest things a young athlete can do.
This belief shapes the way I coach and it is the same foundation we use inside ReadyCoach. Teaching movement early unlocks performance later.
